Probate of Estates:
We offer all of the standard probate services that you can find everywhere else in the state of Georgia. Our Probate court has the exclusive but limited jurisdiction of the administration of the estates of deceased persons, and the appointment of guardians for minors and incapacitated adults.

Weapons Carry Permits:
We issue Georgia Weapons Carry Licenses on:
Monday 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Tuesday 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM
Wednesday 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Thursday 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Friday 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Our Computers generate a Weapons Carry License application, fingerprints are completed at the County Jail or the Vidalia Police Station and a background check is run through GCIC,ICE, NICS, and the FBI. All reports are back in the office in approximately two weeks and if everything is clear, the license is issued.
Marriage License:
Both parties need to be present when the application is filled out. If either party has ever been married, proof needs to be provided of how the marriage was dissolved before a new license can be issued. There are two different fees for marriage licenses. If the couple has had marriage counseling the fee is $36.00, without counseling the fee is $76.00.
The Requirements to obtain a Marriage License are as follows for Both Parties:
- Valid ID of Bride and Groom
- Address and Phone Number
- Date of Birth and Place of Birth
- Social Security Number and Occupation
- Parents name including mother’s maiden name
- Parents places of birth
- If either party has been married previously, they must have a copy of the final decree of a divorce or a certified copy of the death certificate if previous spouse is deceased.
Vital Records (Birth Certificates):
If you currently do not have a birth certificate on file you may file for a Delayed Birth Certificate. The requirements to do so are listed below:
- Must have a valid ID
- Must have a Certified copy of a no-record on-file
- Full name at birth
- Date and Place of Birth
- Full maiden name of mother and full name of father unless parents were not married at time of conception/birth.
- Place and Date of Birth of parents.
- $10 filing fee; $25 for new birth certificate
Errors to birth certificates may be corrected by filing an amended birth certificate. The requirements are as follows:
- The new amendment form must be signed by self, parents, or legal guardian.
- Need valid ID
- Must have Certified Copy of the original Birth Certificate
We can supply Birth and Death records and some delayed birth certificates. Certified copies of these birth and death records are $25.00 for the first copy and $5.00 for each additional copy of the same record. Certified copies of marriage records are $10.00 each.
